We are happy to announce the addition of Gita Terry, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, to the NBCC family. Gita worked as an entertainment lawyer for over 15 years before becoming a licensed therapist. She brings a lot of life experience, humor, and insight to her practice. For more than 5 years she worked with a diverse range of people and issues, including those improving their parenting and parent-child communication skills (in all age groups), coping skills, those handling major change of life stressors (jobs, school, aging, etc), people rebuilding their lives and self esteem after years of addiction/ trauma/abuse (to name just a few) at the Open Paths Counseling Center in Culver City. She trained as a peer leader at OUR HOUSE (which addresses grief & loss issues for children and adults who have experienced a recent death) and lead teen grief groups at high schools. For 18 months she was the co-leader of a men?s batterers group as part of Another Way-Stopping Violence and Abuse and is committed to non violent communication and more emotional awareness for boys and men. She also spent 6 months working at the Culver City Police Department with juvenile offenders and their parents. She is committed to addressing and supporting the social and emotional needs of highly/exceptionally/profoundly gifted children, teens and adults. Gita offers individual, conjoint and family therapy.
